CURTAINS. Remember about my previous post? It's about home decor for blog. Lovely background will be photogenic when you are taking outfits pictures. The post before was just a quick post about curtains and this post is the second part of it.

There are a lot of types of curtains. Floral curtains, sheer curtains, modern curtains, designer curtains, and so on. It's obvious I'm not going to talk about how to decor your home. I'm not an expert on that area (more like Fernando's job). Ha-ha! However, I can give you a little bit tips for matching your curtains at home as a background with the kind of ootd (outfits of the day) that you choose. Anyway, the curtains' pictures that I choose here is from CTWOTOP.

1. Sheer curtains or neutral color curtains are the best ones for taking outfits pictures, since it's not standing out so much but could complement any kind of outfits no matter what! Colorful, monochrome, crazy pattern you name it. They will go perfectly well with each other.

2. The typical classical curtains style actually goes perfectly well with gowns. They complement each other. But please noted, don't forget to match the color too. Never take a picture with same background color as your gown - it's suicide and pretty much killing the whole picture.

3. Cute theme curtains can be worn as a background for fun theme picture. For example, maternity or colorblock ootd photoshoot. While simple pattern curtains (such as floral one as in the next picture down here), it's suitable for romantic style ootd.

These tips are based on my own experience, but hopefully they could help you. Or maybe even some of you already know about it. Then, that's great! All in all, simply play around with your own curtains and you will get the hang of it. :)

Home Decor for Blog : Curtains

February 5, 2015

Pictures by Fernando Prasetyo

HOME DECOR FOR BLOG. If you have a blog, it's a guarantee that you have to take lovely pictures. Most of us do this in the comfort of our own home. You don't have to take the big camera all the time. Just put on your outfit of the day and -for me- ask hubby to take a quick picture.

If you are just like me, it's important to have a lovely background. This time, I will talk about curtain. Yes, curtain.

Fernando and I always love simplicity, that's why we chose the minimalism style for our house. It's simple and neat. Our home are made full of glasses and windows, so curtain become an important element for both functional and aesthetic. It protects us from the sunlight and at the same time for decoration.

We use double layer - sheer curtains and blackout curtains. Sheer curtains -for me- are perfect for taking pictures. We can get enough light from the outside without turning on the light. Anyway, Curtainsmarket has a lot of cute curtains. I kinda feel in love with the shabby chic curtains. Here are some of the stylish curtains that caught my interest :

These curtains are super cute. Oh my! Maybe I could persuade Fernando to change our curtains for different feel in our home. Lol!

This is just a quick post though. Later, I will write a post with a bit of tips here and there. By the way, what's your home style? Vintage? Shabby chic? And what of the curtains? Share yours in the comment below, if you'd like! :)

Lace Wedding Dresses Recommendation For Plus Size Ladies

February 3, 2015

LACE WEDDING DRESSES. I did a post about lace wedding inspiration once before and this time I want to talk a bit about lace wedding dresses. Just like  I said before :

'Lace wedding dress is ultra-romantic and can be sexy at the same time. It can be designed with an open or low back, with lots of intricate detailing. Not only that, wedding veils, jackets, and shawls are also can be made with more lace detailing, making it easy to add that little bit of class to your wedding dress, no matter what kind of style that you choose. If you choose lace wedding dress, then accessories can be left to a minimum - perhaps just one fabulous piece, otherwise it will look too much.'

Lace is pretty much number one choice in wedding dresses. Until now, I never see bride who isn't using lace as a part/element of the wedding dress. It's suitable for all body shape! Whether you are slim, skinny, regular size, or even plus size - you can wear lace wedding dresses and look beautiful.

I know it's kinda hard to find the perfect wedding dresses for plus size ladies (usually people will only give recommendation for the slim women and it's not fair at all), but I have the perfect shop for the plus size ladies - it's called WeProm Dress. Their wedding dresses' design are beautiful. Whether the dresses for slim or plus-sized ladies, they have it all. My sister is a bit plus-sized herself and when I showed this shop to her, she loves it!

Here are a few lace wedding dresses for plus-sized ladies that I love :

Simplicity

January 23, 2015

Pictures by Fernando Prasetyo

SIMPLICITY. This one time, I just want to be simple. Usually I would wear my statement necklace with such a simple dress. However, I just love the style of this dress so much and I want it to stand out. That's why I want the green color to pop out by wearing black hat, bag, and shoes. And I thought, hey! These simple earrings and my heart necklace will be enough.

Other reason for the simplicity is that I have to be realistic when going out. Freya is 4.5 months now and she keeps grabbing everything - especially hair and earrings. It means I have to make adjustment to the way I style myself, because she's always with me wherever I go. Baby oh baby...

Like I said before, it's kinda hard for me to find dress. Luckily, I found this dress which came in a few different sizes. I now wear size L! Omg! Even though the dress is small cutting, but still L! Ha-ha! I just remind myself that this is all for my baby. At least, hubby loves me just the way I am. >.< New resolution : working out. I hope I could achieve my goal - tone my body back. Not easy, but good luck to me! :)

Anyway, if you love simple accessories like mine, you can find it in FreshTrends. They have wide range of jewelry design. The jewelry isn't only simple or elegant, but also chic and fashionable.

It's almost Valentine's Day! Look at their campaign down here - cool right? Get your heart on... *wink*

Do you love simple jewelry like me? Any thought? :)

The Mothers

January 13, 2015

My Parents and Fernando's Parents

Pictures by Pictura Photography

Mother of The Bride and Groom Dresses. People rarely talk about the parents' dresses, but it's also an important part of the wedding party. They are the ones that gave birth to us and I'm sure that their appearance would be our lifetime happiness. It means that they approve our marriage. Mine sure did! :)

Mother of the bride and groom outfits should be comfortable, well-fitted and age appropriate. Not only that, but the outfits should be coordinated with the color, theme and style of the wedding party which has already been chosen by the happy couple.

Here are a few tips that might be helpful in choosing the perfect dresses for the mother of the bride and groom :

Communication is the key. This is actually the most important part. The mothers should find out from the bride how to dress their part and the other way around applied too. The bride should include them in the planning process, so they know what to expect (for example : the theme of the party). I'm sure the parents would be happy to be included.

Make a match. After the bride has chosen her wedding gown and bridesmaid dresses, the mothers should follow their lead and make adjustment.

Find the hue. Usually the mothers always wear the same color with different design of dresses. They should decide their color preferences in mind, but don't forget about the bride - they should stay away from white, cream, or ivory, otherwise it will look like they are trying to steal the spotlight. The dresses should compliment both moms' coloring and not clashing with the wedding colors ( the dress doesn't have to match the bridesmaids' too ).

Compromise with the bride. Not only compromise about the color, but also about the dress design. The mothers should feel comfortable with what they are wearing on the big day too. On the other side, don't wear dresses which aren't suitable with the mothers' age - it can embarrass the bride/the groom.

Anyway, my moms chose bright neon pink color and I love it! At first, the dads were shocked by the chosen color. Hey! They are both guys and shouldn't wear pink, besides it's bright pink! For them, it's too cheesy. Ha-ha! But you know... women always win in the end. They finally agreed. They looked handsome though! Don't you think so? :)

Also I'm introducing Tops Wedding for your wedding needs. They have several elegant dresses for the mothers. Here are three of my favorites. I know I said that the mothers shouldn't wear cream/white color, but I chose based on the design. Tops Wedding offers custom dresses - in other words, you can choose the color based on your preferences. Sweet, right? :)
