Cruella de Vil - A Halloween Inspiration

September 29, 2013

Cruella de Vil. If you watched the dalmatians movie, I knew that you know who she is. I chose this title, because Fernando said I looked like her. Ha-ha! It's kind of a joke between us, but hey! I got an interesting title. Besides, Halloween is coming up soon. So I thought... Why don't I make Cruella de Vil as an inspiration?

I'm not going to dye my hair like her though - it's totally unacceptable in my country. I couldn't imagine the whisper and the snicker from people (totally scary!). But I'm inspired by the way she dressed in black and white. Quirky, weird, and evil - but unique!

Thanks to Front Row Shop for giving me this stylish batwing jersey. I love the uniqueness of this piece. At first, It was hard to style this piece. Challenging, but fun. The hard part is because I'm pretty short (Asian size, duh? :D) and the batwing jersey is super long. I knew right away that I had to wear high heels in order to make my legs look longer. Ha-ha!

I decided to be bold and wore my Black Milk 'Will You Still Love Me' Hosiery. The combination is pretty much lethal. I have to be careful though, because the upper part of those tights is transparent. Later, I will wear shorts, so I could move freely.

Sweet Love // Giveaway Winner

September 26, 2013

SWEET LOVE. Ah yes, lately I'm in love mode. Ha-ha! My wedding date is getting closer and I love every bit of the hectic preparation. So busy, but I manage to spend some time with Fernando. I'm also enjoying my last few days with my family. We live closed by, but still I'm going to miss my parents. Everything will be different after October 6th, but I guess in a good way. I can't wait to start a new life with Fernando <3

If you remember my last wish list, you will know that I mentioned about a red coat. I got them from my sweet sponsor, Persunmall. My wish is granted by them! Ha-ha! I know that I'm a bit dramatic here, but after receiving the parcel, I squealed so loudly.

Sometimes, I'm pretty confused with the way our post office work. I'm not sure why I received only notification to get a parcel that was sent from abroad - instead of being sent to my house directly. Isn't that supposed to be signed on delivery? Hmm... The weird part is the parcel from Persunmall, the tracking number said I received it on September 19th, but I haven't even got the notification. A glitch maybe, but at least I got my sweet parcel happily. Have this ever happened to you, dear fellow Indonesian blogger? :)

Why? Because the red coat is so... perfect! The material is thick and that makes the coat a great bargain in my eyes. The price is really worth it. I know that it doesn't make sense to have a coat in a 'hot' country like Indonesia, but I just couldn't resist having it. Maybe later, I could wear it when I go abroad. Despite of that, I keep walking around wearing the coat inside my house. Yes, I'm that obsessed. LoL.

If you want to buy this awesomeness, just visit Persunmall Double Breasted Red Cotton Coat page.

I can't get enough with it, so I want to share the coat details with you. >.<

Usually, I saw people always wearing red coat with all black outfit, but I wanted to add color in the whole outfit. That's why I chose my bright blue reef bodycon dress from Black Milk. Bold choice, but I think it works.

What do you think? :) How do you style your red coat?

Slaters Men's Shoes

September 18, 2013

Lately, after spending time shopping with Fernando, I start to pay attention to men's fashion little by little. Somehow, I just want to make him as my real life doll. Pst... don't tell him I'm saying this! :D

It’s commonly known that some women can be attracted to a man, simply by the style of his shoes. I might be one of those women. If a man get it wrong, he may not even get past the first date. If it’s his wife that’s still buying his footwear, take control during shopping outings and pick his own style that he feel confident in.

It’s not just about following this season trends, but have a small eclectic mix of different style for the office, the gym, Saturday nights out and weekends away. Gender aside, some view shoes as practical necessities, while others have a shoe obsession. Try to land straight in the middle and shop for comfort, style and occasion.

Here are a few important things that should be noted for women who buy shoes for her men (or you can make him reading these few points) :

Men's Casual shoes

Men can wear almost any colour or style of shoe with jeans, but avoid very shiny shoes that were obviously intended for dressier outfits. Add a sporty polo shirt which can be complimented with a loafer.

Men's Work shoes

When entering the boardroom, your man should be ready to be scanned from head to toe while approaching his dutiful handshake. Make sure his footwear works in synergy with his suit, be it a brogue or an oxford, wear shoes with laces rather than slip on’s. Leather is a more durable outer fabric which can be polished to add a professional, elegant shine.

Men’s weekend shoes

Take your pick from high tops, boots or sandals. Dress for comfort and make sure his footwear compliments his denim jeans, chinos or board shorts.

Colour Matching for Men's Shoes

·       Black shoes work well with navy, grey or black pants.
·       Brown shoes are best suited to tan, brown, beige, greens, other darker earth tones.
·       Burgundy shoes work well with khaki, lighter browns, blue and grey.
·       Tan shoes look great with lighter earth tones, blue, beige, lighter tan or white.

Make sure your man stand out from the crowd for all the right reasons and take pride in selecting his footwear. With any of the shoes from the Slaters Mens Shoes range he could step in to every meeting that little bit more confident.

So, how about stepping back, thinking about your man, then starting to enjoy men's fashion a bit more? :)

The September Issue

Hi guys! I realized that I have been gone for a pretty long time. I was swarmed with wedding preparation and sudden holiday to Bangkok - Singapore. Tiring, but hey? I'm pretty happy. I couldn't really take any pictures, because we forgot to bring our camera - due to the sudden excitement. At least, the memory will be forever imprinted in my mind.

Anyway, for this post, I want to introduce you to an interesting article that I stumbled upon and I know you will love them too!

THE SEPTEMBER ISSUE

Winter is looming, the nights are getting darker and the key season Autumn/Winter trends and now being drip-fed through the media. We all know that the September magazine issues are the most fashion-focused of the year, bringing new styles and trends to life and telling us what we need to be looking out for on the high street and in designer boutiques.
The Zara ‘skort’ was such a phenomenon his summer, gracing the editorial pages of every glossy magazine, but what will be this seasons key trend?
Many say that fashion designers determine fashion trends through their catwalk shows showcased a season in advance, but who really sets the tone for the season, is it us or them?
We make note of what our trusty magazines insist are going to keep us ahead of the fashionista race with our gaggle of girlfriends. It’s us who make the choice to go out and purchase must-have garments, and it’s us that make the choice to invest in throw away high street fashion or high end designer. Its us who cut back on the weekly shopping budget to save up for the next Mulberry handbag, its us that take the Tube to work instead of taxis so we can save money to hit the bars in Shoreditch and dangle the new luxe leather beauty from our arms. However, it’s definitely them who feed us with aspirational images of what we should be wearing and we lap it up.
We even go as far to raid our boyfriends wardrobe for key season trends and steal their jeans and Simon+Simon knitwear, hence the fashion term ‘boyfriend’ jeans and the prevalence of oversized knitted jumpers as a key trend last season.
I wonder which items from our boyfriends wardrobes we will be looking to share this season...I say let’s stick to feminine lines, soft tones and statement jewellery and leave the androgynous look to the boys.
Bring on the September issues…Bring on the Winter…Bring on the fashion trends to feed our fashion frenzies.
Written by Zeri Burt-Skeete, resident fashion blogger at Simon + Simon, redefining men’s style piece by piece.
Just like Zeri said, we could be the one who sets the tone for the season. After all, the designers would be nothing without fans or customers, but we couldn't deny that we are tempted by their aspirational image.

I even would raid Fernando's wardrobe after we get married this Oct. Ha-ha! He has the most comfiest sweater ever! Or maybe I will buy Simon+Simon oversized sweater for him, but of course he has to share it with me? Oh-so-tempting.

What do you say? Will you raid your boyfriend/fiance/husband's wardrobe? :D
